Office
Organization |
The
Public Information Office is staffed by Information Officer
Barry Parker along with other highly trained assistants. Its
primary function is to keep the Fire Chief informed of local
and breaking events as well as insuring that department goals
and objectives are met. Messages from the Fire Chief are disseminated
through this office.
During times of emergency, highly trained Information Officers,
who are normally assigned to fire stations, join the staff for
the duration of the emergency incident. Answering your non-emergency
calls on the telephone during incidents in the Department Operations
Center is another group of experienced Information Officers. |
| Message
From Your Information Office |
As
a Public Information Office, it is our pleasure to serve our
communities. We are your eyes and ears during times of emergencies.
You may see us on television news or hear us on the radio. This
is one of the most important and effective ways to get important
information to you. We work in concert with the news media to
get all critical messages to you immediately. We utilize both
English and Spanish media. Our Internet page is another way
that we can get our news to you as soon as it breaks.
Our messages may also be preparatory or educational as we work
with the Fire Prevention Bureau. Look for announcements regarding
fire season, winter safety, and evacuation of animals during
emergencies, rattlesnakes and other vital topics on the Department's
web page.
