The Emergency
Medical Services (EMS) Division is responsible for providing
medical oversight and training for all facets of emergency
medical services offered by the Department. This Division
is responsible for managing the clinical and operational components
of a diverse set of EMS programs within the Fire District.
Historically tasked with
training and certifying fire company personnel as Emergency
Medical Technicians (EMT), the EMS Division has expanded its

from an educated public. Expanded programs include Emergency
Medical Dispatch (EMD), Public Access Defibrillation (PAD),
certification of all Fire District EMTs in the National Registry
testing process, the implementation of a Continuous Quality
Improvement (CQI) program, and an expansion of the District's
Firefighter Paramedic Program.
Agency responsibilities
include all hospitals, the Ventura County EMS Agency, Gold
Coast Ambulance, American Medical Response, Lifeline Ambulance,
and the State EMS Authority.
