Station 26 12391
W. Telegraph Rd., Santa Paula, CA 93060
Fire
Station 26 serves Saticoy and the unincorporated county area between
Santa Paula and Ventura. This fire station was built in 1981
to replace two fire stations: the Saticoy Fire Station (Station 15)
and the Santa Paula Fire Station (Station 12). This was accomplished
because of the growth of both of those incorporated cities. Fire
Station 26 was also an experiment to see if prefabricated buildings
could be used as fire stations in a cost-effective manner. It
was built along with a sister station, FS24 on the Ventura Avenue
(since closed). The experiment showed that it was just as inexpensive
to build conventional buildings. The Saticoy Fire Station is
staffed daily by three firefighters and houses three pieces of equipment:
a 2000 American La France pumper (Engine 26); a 1988 FMC pumper (Engine 126); and a 2003 Westmark/International brush engine (Engine 326).
