Fire
Station 22 serves the Meiners Oaks portion of Ventura County. It was
built in the early 1950's and extensively remodeled in the mid 1980's
to replace space lost when two on-site fire department houses were
sold The houses adjacent to our stations were used in the early years
as homes for the captains and battalion chiefs and their families.
In later years they were periodically rented to firefighters as temporary
residences.
The Meiners Oaks Fire Station is staffed daily by three firefighters
and houses three pieces of equipment: a 1996 KME 1500 gpm pumper (Engine
22); a 2003 Westmark/International brush engine (Engine 322); a 1997 Ford 4X4 (Patrol 22); and
a 2001 Dodge Quad 4X4 (Utility 222).
