Fire Station 34 is located
on Avenida de los Arboles at Moorpark Road. The station was built
in 1961 to serve as a fire station and a Ventura County Sheriff's
Department substation. The Sheriff eventually outgrew the space and
moved to a house across the street and finally to a dedicated station
in North Thousand Oaks. Today, the original holding cells are used
by fire station personnel as a generator room and a storage room. In 2002, the Firefighter position was upgraded to Paramedic/Firefighter and Engine 34 became the Departments first Medic/Engine.
The Arboles Fire Station is staffed daily by 3 firefighters and houses:
a 2002 American La France; a 1500 GPM pumper (Engine 34); a 1991 Pierce pumper in reserve (Engine 134); and a
2001 Dodge van (Utility 34).
