Fire Station 32 serves the western end of the Thousand Oaks/Potrero Valley areas. The station was built in 1972 to serve the explosive growth of residences and light commercial occupancies built in the early 1970s. The very first aerial ladder truck was housed at Station 32 briefly until Station 30 was built on Hillcrest Drive. You can still see the notch cut by the truck crew out of the northern-most door header to accommodate the height of the ladder truck. In 2003, the firefighter position was upgraded to Paramedic/Firefighter and Engine 32 became the department's second Medic/Engine. Station 32 has a daily staffing of three firefighters and houses: a pumper (Engine 32); a brush engine (Engine 332); and a patrol (Patrol 32)
