Fire
Station 30 serves the central portion of the City of Thousand Oaks. The station was built in 1974
on what was originally the Janss Ranch and part of the Los Robles
Golf Course. This station
is a battalion headquarters station serving the Conejo Valley with
offices for both the east county division chief and the Conejo Valley
battalion chief.
In addition to the chief officers,
seven firefighters staff the Thousand Oaks Fire Station, three assigned
to the engine and four assigned to the ladder truck. The engine
is a 2004 American La France pumper (Engine 30) and the truck (Truck 30) is a
1999 American LaFrance 100’ tillered aerial. The tiller
design, wherein the chassis is a tractor-trailer with a steerable
rear axle, provides greater maneuverability on today’s city
streets. A 2001 4X4 Chevrolet Suburban command vehicle is also stationed
here.
