Chief Ralston is a native of Southern California and a graduate of Quartz Hill High School and California State University Los Angeles. He joined the Ventura County Fire Department in October 1978 after working for the Kern County Fire Department for two years. He has promoted his way through the ranks to his current position as Assistant Chief. Currently he is assigned to the Bureau of Support Services. Chief Ralston is an appointed member of the statewide FIRESCOPE Operations group; he is a member of the International Association of Fire Chiefs, and Ventura County Fire Chiefs Association.
