The Administrative
Bureau is a concentration of administrative support areas
for the department. The largest group is the fiscal unit
which includes the following functions: payroll, accounts
receivable, accounts payable and cost recovery, budget preparation
and monitoring, and financial planning and analysis. The
Supply unit is responsible for the purchasing, ordering,
warehousing and distribution of supplies for the department.
Human Resources has the responsibilities of recruitment,
testing, promotions, discipline, and human relations policies
and training. Risk Management tracks related legislation
and laws to ensure compliance, inspects facilities for safety
compliance, and investigates accidents and is proactive
to take measures that enhance employee and facility safety
in a cost effective manner. Facility maintenance is provided
through the County's General Services Agency and a private
consulting firm is used to provide project management of
the District's numerous building projects.
